  • Case history - This is an ideal time to discuss your family's health history, as well as the general status of your health
  • Visual acuity - measures clearness and sharpness of your vision
  • Eye coordination - tests how well your eyes work together
  • Discuss allergies to drugs and childhood diseases
  • Eye Health - reveals eye health problems, such as cataracts, glaucoma or diseases or the retina.
  • The doctor will check for high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, diabetes and other conditions which can effect vision and overall health
  • Accommodation- tests your eye's ability to change focus quickly from far to near and vice versa
  • Refraction - determines the amount of prescription needed to give you clear comfortable vision
  • Peripheral vision - checks your side vision

What you should bring to your exam:
  • Your present glasses and contact lenses
  • Sunglasses and other protective eye wear
  • List of medications you currently take
  • List of Changes in vision conditions and eye-related problems
  • List of allergies
